Laguna seca 2012 Season 3

New week,new track. I hope my performance here will be better.

Yesterday made few laps with Nico's baseline setup (full tank of fuel). I managed 1.12.0xx but i guess this is still far away from race pace. I hope tonight someone will host session. It's much more fun training with other people.

Good track! And whats even better, my barber-setup feels nice around here. Even the gear ratios match for me.

Made a few laps on hosted session. 1.11.485 with q fuel and 1.12.012 with race fuel. Not the best q lap, I know that I could do 0,5 sec faster but always when I was on the flying lap some spins in front of me, or I made mistake :S . What makes me worry is Nico's statement that their team top time was 1.10.000 with race fuel. That's damn fast if it is true.

juho, i had a look at your lap and realized there's not much i can offer at the moment, my fastest lap from last season was almost a second slower and you're faster in every single turn haven't had a chance to do any running yet myself, don't think i'll be able to make the wednesday race like usual this week. trying to finish writing my thesis is sucking up my entire life at the moment

Scott, I think the track&car combo might be faster now than last season, because my time was not even that good. I have run skippy @ laguna a lot so the track is familiar to me which helps ofcourse.

I'm a bit jealous if you are already finishing your thesis, I've only just started planning mine. I'm wishing you strength and I hope you get your thesis finished soon!

I wish you luck with your thesis too. By the way, your set from Barber is faster then Nico-s for Laguna Seca. The only problem is when you jump on the curb (on few turns) there is no way to stay on the track (cannot turn the car). I guess car is to low, but with race fuel I can do 1.11.6xx, and that-s 0,5 sec faster then with Nico-s set. But you have to be very precise not to make a mistake and ride the curb.

Yeah the curbs are a nightmare. Maybe I should raise the car a bit, especially those red blocks in the apexes unsettle the car a lot.

Unsettle the car? I remember them damn near ripping the wheels off when you hit one

Thanks for the support, I'm down to my last 1/2 chapter or so left to write and then final editing. Trying to get it finished up as soon as possible so I'll have time to sort out my move afterwards and relax a little before I start work.

Damn, a lot of people already had pace for race under 1.10.5xx and i'm still at 1.11.4xx :S I have to practice tonight or race will be disaster for my iRating

Finally got below 1:10 with qualify fuel. 1:09:938 was the time I think. Thanks Saso for good conversation and comparing the setups, it really helped me fine-tune mine.

I'm glad that our conversation helped. I gain a little too. 0,2 sec on race setup. I hope that will be enough for good race result.

I've started coming down with a cold on top of everything else so I probably won't be racing at all this week

Good luck Saso and Scott also if you are going to run the SOF-race. I was hoping the previous race would go official but it didn't and I cannot race the SOF-race today.

Maybe I can run the one after the SOF-race, let's hope that goes official.

It looks like i will have to run race after SOF too. Cannot drive one single lap without spin :S I will try SOF but if it goes wrong i will race next one too.

Jesus, in 2nd SOF race i was 2nd after 12 laps some 5 sec behind championship rival Fernando. Guess who take me out of the race ? Some guy, when he was already lap down first he block me and then even knock me out :S God damn....i'm so pissed off . And over all of that he even argue with me that he is just taking the racing line(when i try to pass him i was way of the racing line).
And final puzzle .... i was such a idiot and forget to save replay :S It can't be worse so Juho, see you on the start line

That sucks. Let's hope the next one will bring us some points.

edit: And seems your rival ended his race soon after you so he didn't get too many points either. =)
