Try it today with Nico's base setup from season 3. With race fuel i can drive constant medium 1.31, with q fuel 1.30.660 but i'm sure i can dive into 1.29 if i just can drive one lap without mistake Draft here is once again excellent. Even if you start race from the back of the grid you can overtake slower drivers at the straight .

Thanks Cyril! It was nice to see you again in a race!
Saso, my setup isn't that stable if you ran with it... Sorry to hear you had problems again. Don't give up, there are times when the racing seems frustrating. I lost almost 500iR once in a couple of days and it did not feel good.
What kind of FOV are you guys running by the way, do you use the provided calculator? I strongly suggest using it even with a single screen. It has made my driving a lot more consistent (I use 45 fov, one 24" screen in about 70cm distance).

I use around 75 on 36" LCD. I try with lower FOV but i can't used to it I will not give up I'm just mad @ myself for stupid driving 3 weeks in a row

Try it again sometime and drive for atleast 45 minutes. It takes some time to adjust.
When you do adjust to it, you will realize that it's so much easier to see the distances because they are not distorted. Just like you were driving in real life. At least for me it was a real eye-opener and I cannot go back. Even if the view to the sides is a bit narrow now (hoping to get 3 monitors some day ).
edit: and don't use 45 like I do, because you have bigger screen I think the calculator will give you a different result (50-60 I would guess depending on how close you sit to the monitor).

Ok, what FOV is the in-game FOV-calculator suggesting for you?

i think is around 60, but i use motion cockpit tool ( http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/22806.page ) and this changes everything. It's quite nice plugin, you really feel that elevation on the track + forces to the car, but you have to get used to it. Maybe it makes me slower to :S

Dunno about that one, I haven't tried it. But I would guess that that setting a realistic calculated FOV would work ok with that tool also. If it doesn't change the field of view in any way.

Yeah, it changes it. It has own ini file for camera positions and some other stuff. But it shakes a lot. The feeling of speed is awesome with this plug in

Here is how it looks like driving with above mentioned plug in. Maybe still shakes to much but this can be edited in ini file. You can adjust settings for each cars, so in that perspective it's quite nice tool. You can adjust also pitch, roll, yaw, etc...
If anyone is interested in that plugin i can upload app.ini and motioncockpit.ini . Default settings shakes so much that you can get motion sickness
P.S. : You can see that i use fov 80, but it looks like more 70 or even a little less if you compare it to original iRacing without this plug in. The most brilliant thing is when you turn it your view move to apex, and even better thing is that this is not related with steering input but g-forces

Interesting.
Looks pretty nice but I don't know if I would like to drive it like that.

When you get used to it, you cannot drive without it I try disable it yesterday... i wasn't able to do proper turn in, didn't hit the apex.....

Sorry for post in this topic a question related with the Maclaren but i did a search in forum and found this post about the Motion Cockpit View.
I didn't know this plugin, and have same questions to you about it:
1- In your opinion it give us more or less speed. Do you think you are quicker with it?
2 - it improves your feeling about the car reactions helping in tunning setups?
3 - What are the Maclaren settings thar bring you more realistic driving feel?
Thanks

1. It gives you maybe more speed on single lap but you are slower in the race. 2. Yes 3. I don't know since i only try it with Dallara and FW31.
