Nice pics... what effect you are using to blur surroundings ?

The blur is from the sim itself. With ctrl+f12 you can get the advanced camera settings. I just set the camera aperture size to the smallest value (F/1) and play with manual focus so that the background is blurred.
Then I add some sharpening to the whole image with "Unsharpen mask"-filter in GIMP. I like to 'oversharpen' the image a bit even to a slightly nonrealistic look. In some images I might have overdone it a bit but atleast it adds a personal touch.

If Iracing would allow more detailed textures for the cars it would enable to take really nice screenshots. Now when you take close-up shots you can see the pixels in the cartextures.

DirectX 11 would solve the problem, but i'm not sure if we are going to get it this year.

Does DX11 support scalable textures or is there some other feature which would help?

It can process bigger textures + have some nice filters to softer the edges. But it will demand more powerfull PC for sure.

Ok. Sounds nice.
But I believe that just by using cartextures twice the size they are now (I think they are 1024x1024 now) the closeups would look great. Even with current DX version.
Its just speculation though and it might have an big effect to FPS.

Maybe larger car textures would solve the problem but i think is DX limitation to 1024x1024. DX11 will have big effect on FPS but iRacing announced they will support new and old DX version.
