| I have a question about telemtery SW.Which SW to use for telemtry reading ? Atlas or Motec ? Which is best and why ? Which one shold i take as a beginner ? I would like to learn at least basics how to read telemetry since i'm pretty sure some of the setup tricks could be found easier from telemetry then through driving (in the sim).
Scott you are using Motec or Atlas ?

| i use atlas, but that's mainly because i use it at work as well. the software itself is rather crappy though, its main advantage is that you can view data in real-time but that doesn't apply here. the software we're just moving away from is better at post-processing data like you'd be doing with iracing, but i doubt you'd want to buy it just for this i haven't used motec, so can't really compare, but my guess would be that it's easier to use than atlas. | |

| Thank's Scott! Yeah Atlas is crap :S If I load 2 laps to compare Atlas crash to desktop :S I have tryed Motec few years ago with rFactor and it's way easier to use than Atlas. I have one more question. Which workbook do you use with Atlas ? Do you have your own workbook or do you use workbook from iRacing forum ?
By the way... do you already have new pedals ?

| I make my own workbooks, that way I can organize the info how I want. I normally make a different one for each car & type of racing (I used to do a bunch of oval racing) since different cars have different logged channels. None of them have nearly enough for my liking, but that's another story... Haven't bought the new pedals. I managed to get my current ones working again by taking the apart and cleaning everything. Still plan on getting new ones at some point, but not exactly my highest-priorty item at the moment. I'd rather put the money towards saving for my new car | |

| Do you have any workbook that can be used with McLaren ? Yeah pedals can be easily fixed with good cleaning I have to clean my old g25 pedals every few months. But after cleaning they worked like brand new. Hmm i'm starting to think about new car too, but have no idea what to buy. The only thing i know it has to be diesel (to my sorrow), SW and not less then 150 HP. | |

| SloEdge, can you share your workbook? I plan on driving the 80 min Watkins Glen and I'm trying to figure out a good fuel and tyre strategy. Since I'm a noob in the McLaren I don't know if I can even drive 80 min with one tank of fuel or if changing tyres is plausible.
Any advice?
I manage high 1.47s with 110L of fuel. I reckon I'll need quite a lot more fuel for 80 minutes. How big is the fuel cell on the McLaren anyway?
BTW, what's the requirement for joinging the SasIng team?

| I will send you workbook when i get home. I'm noob when it comes to telemetry. For fuel consumption i use ISpeed SW which gave you pretty good information about fuel consumption for last lap and average for last 5 laps. Fuel consumption for long race (endurance) it's hard to determine, because you have many factors that can save or extra burn your fuel (driving style, drag factor if you drive behind someone, etc..) If i remember correctly you need around 97l for 50 minutes race so i guess you need at least 1 pit stop. My strategy for races with pit stop is to carry fuel for 3/4 of the race so i loose less time when refueling and gives me more option when to come to pit. Hehe you are already in the team Otherwise you will not see those posts All you need is signature and skin for the car.. choose color combination for skin and i will made it for you. | |
